Upload or download a Sample Prep method

Upload a Sample Prep method from your instrument or download a Sample Prep method to your instrument. These options are not available if your instrument is disconnected or offine, tuning, or running. 

If your Sample Prep method was modified by changing parameters at the instrument's control panel, you may upload those settings to OpenLab. Uploading a method from an instrument will copy the instrument's current settings into your method window. Note that while the settings will be copied, the method's name will not change.

1. Click Method.
2. Click Upload from instrument . The method parameters currently specified on the instrument will be loaded into the currently open acquisition method file.
3. You may modify any of these parameters as needed, or click Save As to save this method as an .smx file.

To download a method, the instrument must be idle, the acquisition client has control of the instrument, and you must have the Manual Control (only when instrument is idle) privilege.

1. Click Method.
2. Click Download to instrument . The parameters of the method that is currently open will be downloaded to your instrument.
