Tokens

Tokens provide dynamically generated names during a run. Tokens vary depending on the field and the configuration of the instrument being used. Each token is represented as a tag when entered into a field. When the row is processed, the tags are resolved to the appropriate name.

Click Token to select a tag from the window of available tokens.

If a token tag references an empty field or data point, the tag itself will be referenced upon submission. For example, if you submit a run using the tag <SMX> (Sample Prep Method) for Sample name, but leave Sample Prep Method (<SMX>) blank, the token, with nothing to reference, resolves as -SMX- for Sample Name.

The following illegal characters in the Data filename/Result filename fields resolve to '-' upon submission.
