Secure Storage privileges

Access to content management secure storage features in the Content Browser and Storage Administration app is determined by privileges assigned to the user. Roles and privileges are assigned in the OpenLab Control Panel. For information on how to assign roles and privileges, see the OpenLab Control Panel Help.

Secure storage has nine predefined roles. The following tables list the privileges and associated functions for each secure storage role.

Content Browser roles

Secure Storage Administrator

Browse, view, upload, manage, lock, and delete content. The Secure Storage Administrator role has the following default privileges.

Privilege	Description
Check-in/out	Check out, check in, and undo check out of files. In Content Browser: Check out Check in Undo check out
Copy files/folders	Copy files and folders to another location in secure storage. In Content Browser: Copy
Create/rename folder	Create or rename folder. In Content Browser: Create folder Rename folder
Delete files/folders	Delete files and folders from secure storage. In Content Browser: Delete
Download files/folders	Download files and folders. In Content Browser: Download Download as zip Preview files Create file/folder link Use file/folder link
Lock files/folders	Lock files and folders so that they cannot be changed or deleted. In Content Browser: Lock
Move files/folders	Move files and folders to another location in secure storage. In Content Browser: Move
Undo checkout for other users	Undo checkout for files checked-out by other users.
Unlock files/folders	Unlock files and folders. In Content Browser: Unlock
Upload files/folders	Upload files and folders to secure storage. In Content Browser: Upload

View project or project group	View a project and project details in Control Panel but cannot edit.

Secure Storage Approver

Browse, view, and sign content. The Secure Storage Approver role has the following default privileges.

Secure Storage Archivist

Browse, view, and lock content. The Secure Storage Archivist role has the following default privileges.

Lock files/folders	Lock files and folders so that they cannot be changed or deleted. In Content Browser: Lock

Secure Storage Contributor

Browse, view, upload, and manage content. The Secure Storage Contributor role has the following default privileges.

Secure Storage Delete Content

Secure Storage Viewer

Storage Administration Roles

The following default roles apply to the Storage Administration app.

Bulk Importer

Bulk import files and folders. The Bulk Importer role has the following default privileges.

Privilege	Description
Import files/folders	Bulk import files and folders. In Storage Administration: Log in Bulk import

File Storage Location Manager

Manage the storage location of physical files. The File Storage Location Manager role has the following default privileges.

Privilege	Description
Manage file storage	Access and move files between storage locations. In Storage Administration: Log in Move files between storage locations (relocate files)

Lock Schedule Manager

View, add, and edit lock schedules. The Lock Schedule Manager role has the following default privileges.

Privilege	Description
Schedule file locking	Access and manage file locking schedules. In Storage Administration: Log in View, add, and edit lock schedules

Storage Configuration Manager

View, add, and edit storage locations and manage physical file storage. The Storage Configuration Manager role has the following default privileges.

Manage file storage	Access and move files between storage locations. In Storage Administration: Log in Move files between storage locations (relocate files)
Manage storage locations	Access and add/edit storage locations. In Storage Administration: Log in Add or edit storage locations

Storage Location Manager

View, add, and edit storage locations (for example, local drive or UNC location). The Storage Location Manager role has the following default privileges.

View Storage Administration Content

View content to manage storage and schedules. The View Storage Administration Content role has the following default privileges.
