Check the retention time window

This procedure explains how you can check the retention time window in which a compound is expected. You can use this procedure during method development to determine the quality of compound identification.

1. In the Chromatograms window, click to open the Chromatogram Properties dialog.

2. Select the Expected compounds page.

3. Select Show expected compounds.

4. Select other options as required. See Expected compounds.

5. Click OK.

The Chromatograms window shows the expected compounds with their retention time windows, as configured in the current method.

6. In the Processing Method window, select the Compounds > Identification node.

7. Edit the values for Absolute RT window (min) or Relative RT window (%).

In the Chromatograms window, the retention time window is adjusted to the new value.
