Extract a signal (EIC or SIM) from an MS spectrum

Prerequisites

  • To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privileges Data Processing > Do manual chromatogram extraction and Processing Method > Edit chromatogram extraction parameters. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.

  • If the project enforces method approval, the method status must be Generic. For details, see Method approval.

  1. The m/z extraction range is set in the processing method. To change it, open the Processing Method window, and edit the parameters in the Extraction > Chromatogram node.

  2. The default m/z expansion is Asymmetric from -0.3 to +0.7.

  3. In the Injection Tree, select the relevant injection.

  4. If there are MS spectra for different signals, show the required signal in the MS Spectrum window (see Select signals).

  5. In the MS Spectrum window, right-click the required ion, then select Extract Chromatogram.

  6. The EIC is extracted for the selected ion's m/z value. It will be added to the list of signals and can be shown or hidden the same way as other signals.
