Compound amounts are required to calculate a calibration curve. By default, Data Analysis uses the values that are defined for each calibration level in the processing method. However, you may use different amount values if one of the following applies:
You weighed in slightly deviating amounts for the calibration standards.
You want to specify multiplier factors for adjusting the purity of your standard solution.
You want to specify dilution factors to describe your calibration standard preparation.
You define the compound amounts either in Acquisition in the sequence table, or Data Analysis in the injection list. This procedure describes how to specify the compound amount values per injection in Data Analysis.
Prerequisites
To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Data > Edit sample information. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.
In the Injection List window, select a calibration standard (Sample type=Cal.Std.) to enable editing the amounts.
The Compound amounts tab allows editing the amounts for the calibration level of the selected injection. Amounts that are set in the method are read-only. If a compound is defined on different signals and has different method calibration amounts or units, Multiple is displayed in the Amount in Method column for this compound
Only those compounds are shown where the amount is used to calculate the calibration curve (that is, for example, no compounds that use a fixed response factor). Amounts that are set in the method are read-only.
In the Amount in sample column, enter the values that you want to use instead.
In the Multiplier and Dil. factor columns, enter the values you want to use.
The Corrected amount column displays the amount that will be used to build the calibration curve.
The calculation of the corrected amount depends on the Concentration and corrected amount calculation settting (see Specify how to calculate with dilution factors):
Corrected amount = Amount * Multipliers * Dil. factors, or
Corrected amount = Amount * Multipliers / Dil. factors.
The amount is the Amount in sample value, or if this value is empty, the Amount in method.
The Compound amounts column in the Injection List window then shows a Modified indicator.
Optional: To use the same compound amounts for all other calibration standards of the same calibration level: Right-click the modified Compound amounts field, and select Fill down.
All modified compound amounts are copied to the corresponding other calibration standards in this method.
Reprocess the data.
The calibration curve is now calculated with the modified amounts.
