Import OpenLab data

Use this function if you want to import OpenLab archives (*.olax files) from the local file system into the OpenLab system.

Prerequisites

  • To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privileges Project Management > Edit content of project and Data > Import data. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.

  • If you use ECM 3.x: Olax archives that contain EZChrom single runs * * (that is, files that have been created with EZChrom in File Mode) have been generated with rev. 2.4 or higher of OpenLab CDS.

  1. In the data selection tree, select the folder where you want to place the data.

  2. In the Import/Export ribbon tab, click Import. Alternatively, use the context menu.

  3. In the Open File dialog, select the required path (local directories, mapped network drives, or UNC paths are possible).

  4. Select the *.olax file or files that you want to import, and click Open.

  5. If you already imported a file with the same name, a dialog opens. Choose to copy the file with a new name, or skip the import.

  6. In the Home ribbon tab, click Refresh to refresh the data selection tree after the import.

The data contained in the archive is imported into the secure data storage with its original name. If data with the same name already exists, a number will be appended.

The import is logged in the System Activity Log in the Control Panel.

If you import an Olax archive that contains a ChemStation single run, the data file name is shown with the original .D extension in Data Analysis. However, in an ECM 3.x system, the single run will be stored as an .sirslt.ssizip archive.
