Communication (Modular LC DAD)

The parameters in this dialog box are detected automatically during autoconfiguration.

For manual configuration, select the Type ID from the drop-down list and enter the Serial number of the device. The Device name is displayed automatically.

The Firmware revision is a read-only value that is updated during autoconfiguration.

Connection Settings...

This button is not present in applications where the connection settings are entered in a separate dialog box.

Displays the Connection Settings dialog box, which allows you to specify the network connection information to the host device.

Additional Connection (G4212A/B and G7117A/B/C only)

Displays an Auxiliary communication settings dialog box, which allows you to specify an additional network connection. A second network connection is required for the HDR-DAD Cluster configuration; for a single DAD. a separate network connection can improve the network communication speed of the module.

For an additional connection, ensure that the Use auxiliary connection check box in the Auxiliary communication settings dialog box is marked.

If multiple UV detectors (VWD, DAD, for example, in HDR or 2D-LC configurations) are used for spectra acquisition, each detector must use its own LAN interface for sufficient communication bandwidth. All LAN interfaces are connected to the instrument control PC via network hub/switch or lab IT infrastructure. All modules still need to be connected via CAN.

To use multiple LAN connections, an auxiliary connection must configured in instrument configuration > communication settings > additional connection. The additional connection can be specified for any (first, second, ...) detector. In Auxiliary Connection Settings, mark the Use auxiliary connection check box and enter the IP address or host name of the additional detector. Standard connection settings for all detectors still show settings for the first/main detector.
