Fraction Trigger Mode (Modular LC Fraction Collector Cluster)

You can select to trigger the collection of fractions in three ways:

Off

No fractions will be collected.

Peak-based

Fractions will be collected based on the peak detection parameters.

For peak-based fraction collection, specify a maximum peak duration (in minutes) in the max. peak duration field. This parameter can be used to stop the fraction collection in cases where the baseline drifts and the signal does not drop below the specified threshold value. Default is 0.5 min; limits are from 0.1 min to 9999.0 min.

At the end of peak collection, there remains a volume of the fraction between the diverter valve and the tip of the needle. To collect this remaining volume, an additional volume is collected:

  • Analytical scale AFC: 17 µL

  • Preparative scale AFC: 120 µL

  • Semi-Preparative scale AFC: 123 µL

Time-based with number of fractions

Specify a number of fractions that you want to collect for each collection period. The time for each fraction is calculated as the Collection Time/#Fractions, where the Collection Time is the time between when the Trigger Mode is set to Time-based and the next mode change or the end of the run.

Time-based with timeslices

Specify a duration (in minutes) for each fraction.
