Edit Wellplate dialog box

The Edit Wellplate dialog box is displayed when you click Add or Edit in the Wellplates table. It allows you to set up a new wellplate definition, or edit an existing wellplate definition.

Plate Name

If you are editing an existing wellplate definition, this field contains the name of the custom wellplate. If you are setting up a new wellplate definition, specify a name in this field.

Row Information

In this section, enter the information about the arrangement of the rows of wells on the plate:

Rows	Number of rows on the plate	up to 16
Row distance	Distance (in mm) between the centers of two rows
Row offset	Distance (in mm) from the back edge (bottom) to the center of the first well (A1)

Column Information

In this section, enter the information about the arrangement of the columns of wells on the plate:

Columns	Number of columns on the plate	up to 24
Column distance	Distance (in mm) between the centers of two columns
Column offset	Distance (in mm) from the left edge (bottom) to the center of the first well (A1)
Column shift	Offset (in mm) to Y when the rows are not straight but staggered

Well Information

In this section, enter the information about the shape and dimensions of the wells:

Volume	Volume (in µL) of a sample vessel
Well depth	Distance (in mm) from the top of the plate to the bottom of the well	up to 99 mm Preparative Sampler (G7158B, ASC): up to 199 mm Open-Bed Fraction Collector (G7159B, FCC): up to 199 mm
Well X Size	Size of the well in the X direction (plate length)
Well Y Size	Size of the well in the Y direction (plate width)
Bottom Size	For round wells, the relative size of the top and bottom of the well	1.0: cylindrical well 0.0: conical well

Mark the Square check box to denote that the well is rectangular or square. When the check box is cleared, a round or oval well is denoted.

Plate Information

In this section, enter the information about the dimensions of the plate:

Plate width	Y size (in mm) at the bottom of the plate	85.50 +/- 0.25 mm (SBS Standard)
Plate height	Size (in mm) from the bottom to the top of the plate, including closing mats or caps)	up to 100 mm Preparative Sampler (G7158B, ASC): up to 200 mm Open-Bed Fraction Collector (G7159B, FCC): up to 200 mm

Mark the Is Wellplate check box to denote that these dimensions specify a wellplate. When the check box is cleared, a vial tray is denoted.
