Working with Slope values

The following diagram shows a chromatographic peak with its corresponding first derivative (top). The values for up-slope and down-slope can be specified within regions indicated by the colored zones. The slope values can be specified in between the baseline (slope 0) and the inflection points. Above these points, fraction collection cannot be triggered with slope criteria. To collect this area of the peak, time-based fraction collection would be the right choice.
