Delay Settings (Fraction Collector II)

Use the Delay Settings table to specify the delay that is applied to a peak trigger signal. You can specify this setting for each peak detector separately.

Peak Detector

Shows the module type and serial number of the selected peak detector from the Peak Triggers table.

Delay Mode

Click in the field and select from the following modes:

  • Off

The selected peak trigger's delay volume does not contribute to the delay volume calculation for fraction collection. Note that the delay volume of any other peak trigger is still taken into account unless it is also explicitly set to Off.

  • As calibrated

Delays fraction collection by a predefined delay volume.

For each peak trigger, the delay volume can be displayed (and edited) using the Modify Detector Delay Volumes dialog box, accessed from the context menu of the instrument's dashboard panel.

Use As calibrated to have the fraction collector cluster take into account the individual calibrated delay volumes for each cluster module. Note that, if you choose to use Use Time or Use Volume, all module-specific delay volumes are neglected. Instead, all collectors collect based on the method setting specified by Use Time or Use Volume.

  • Use Time

Enables the Time field to allow you to set a delay time.

  • Use Volume

Enables the Volume field to allow you to set a delay volume.

For a Fraction Collector Cluster with more than one fraction collector (excluding any recovery collector), the Use Time and Use Volume modes are not supported; you can use Off and As calibrated only.

If you load a method that contains Use Time or Use Volume, a Method Resolution condition is generated with As calibrated as the default setting.

Time

The time used to delay fraction collection when the trigger conditions are met (available only when the Delay Mode is set to Use Time).

Volume

The volume used to delay fraction collection when the trigger conditions are met (available only when the Delay Mode is set to Use Volume).

Delay end of fraction

Mark this check box if you want to delay the end of fraction collection by an additional amount of time. Specify the additional time used to delay the end of fraction collection in seconds.
