Minimum Stroke (Modular LC Binary Pump Valve Cluster Advanced)

Minimum Stroke (Modular LC Binary Pumps)

This parameter defines the volume of mobile phase displaced by one stroke of piston 1. The stroke volume of the pump influences the mixing performance and gradient linearity. When the stroke is set to Automatic (default), the pump selects a stroke volume based on the set flow rate.

The stroke of each channel is based on the flow rate per channel, not on the total flow. The pump uses 20 µL strokes up to a flow of 20 µL /min and increases the stroke in a linear fashion up to 100 μL stokes at 100 µL /min flow rates.

You can set the minimum stroke between 20 and 100 µL (G1312A/B/C, G4782A, G7112B. G7120A and G7132A) or 5 and 100 µL (G4220A/B only).

If you select a minimum stroke that is smaller than the one that would be used by the pump operating in Automatic mode, the pump will use the higher stroke volume.

Synchronized (G4220A/B, G7120A and G7132A)

Select this option to synchronize the strokes for both channels; the values for Channel B are set to the same as those for Channel A (only Channel A is relevant in synchronized mode).

Use synchronized mode unless specific test modes are active. Deactivating synchronization may result in sporadic shifts in retention time.
