Solvents

The Solvents tab allows you to specify the solvents connected to the individual pump channels and the multiplexed channels (that is, those associated with a selection valve). A solvent is identified by a unique solvent name, and you can also specify additional properties.

The solvents table contains the following columns:

Channel

The pump channel or, in the case of a multiplexed channel, the valve position of the external valve.

Solvent

You can type a name for the solvent in this field.

pH

You can specify the pH of the solvent in this field.

Molarity [mM]

You can specify the molarity of the solvent in this field.

Solvent Name

The solvent name. Solvent names must be unique across all channels.

Solvent Type

(G1312B, G4204A, G4220A/B, G7112B and G7120A)

  • G1312B and G7112B

    Click the down arrow and select the solvent from the drop-down list.

  • G4204A

    Click the down arrow and select a solvent or solvent mixture from the list. For solvent mixtures, specify the concentration (in %) of the additive.

  • G4220A/B and G7120A

    Select either Generic option and select the solvent type from the drop-down list, or the Solvent option and specify the solvent system.

Compressibility

(G1312A, G1311A and G7111A/B only)

Specify the compressibility value for the solvent in this field.

Viscosity [cP]

You can specify the viscosity of the solvent in this field.

Configure Solvent Types

(G1312B only)

Displays the Solvent Types dialog box, lists all predefined and user-defined solvents in the system.

Configure Solvent Type Catalogs

(G4220A/B only)

Displays the Solvent Type Catalogs dialog box, which lists all solvent type catalogs available in the system.
