Prepare Pump

Allows you to select one of three different options for preparing the pump:

Purge

Flushes the system with the specified solvent composition for the specified duration at the specified flow rate.

Duration

Specify the purge duration (in minutes). You can specify a purge duration from 0.00 to 360.00 minutes in steps of 0.01 minute.

Flow

Specify the purge flow in mL/min. You can specify a flow from 0.000 to 5.000 mL/min in steps of 0.001 mL/min.

Composition

Specify the solvent composition for the purge in these fields. Solvent A is calculated as 100% - the sum of the other channels.

Conditioning

Flushes the system with the solvent composition and flow rate from the current method for the specified duration.

Duration

Specify the duration of the conditioning (in minutes). You can specify a duration between 0.00 and 9999.99 minutes in steps of 0.01 minute

The Conditioning procedure uses your current method settings. To ensure complete conditioning of all pump heads and solvent lines, we recommend the following settings:

  • G7104A/C and G7131A/C: For example, a duration of 15 min with a flow rate of 1 mL/min

  • G7120A and G7132A: a duration of 15 min with a flow rate of 2 mL/min and a solvent composition of 50:50

Solvents will flow through the LC system and column during conditioning. Ensure the compatibility of column and conditioning settings.

Prime

Draws solvent into all pump heads using the primary solvent channel. The flow is diverted to waste. Priming stops automatically after a duration specified for the pump type.

The intended use of Prime is for filling the pump heads with solvent to remove air bubbles from the pump heads and particles from valves. Do not use the Prime function for filling the solvent lines or changing the solvent type.
