Bottle Filling (Modular LC Pump Valve Cluster)

Bottle Fillings

In the Bottle Filling dialog box, you specify the amount of liquid in the solvent and/or waste bottles, and specify the action to be taken when the level gets too low (solvent) or high (waste).

The parameters are in two sections:

Solvent Bottles Filling

In the Solvent Bottles Filling section, you specify the capacity of the solvent bottle(s), and the current volume in each bottle. Each solvent bottle has two fields:

Enter the capacity of the solvent bottle (in liters) in the Total Volume field. The maximum value is 100.00.

Enter the amount of the solvent currently in the solvent bottle (in liters) in the Actual Volume field. The maximum value of the Actual Volume is the Total Volume of the bottle.

The Actual Volume field is updated as the solvent is used. When you fill the solvent bottles, enter the new actual volume of each solvent bottle in the appropriate Actual Volume field.

No direct measurement of the levels in the solvent bottles is done; the amount remaining is calculated by the amount of solvent used, and the Actual Volume set.

Solvent actions

In the Solvent actions section, you specify the action to be taken if the solvent level falls too low.

Mark the Prevent analysis if level falls below check box, and enter a threshold in the field to ensure that the pump generates a Not Ready condition if the calculated solvent bottle filling level falls below the set threshold. The current run is completed, but the sequence/worklist will not continue with the next analysis.

Mark the Turn pump off if running out of solvent check box to ensure that the pump generates an error if the calculated solvent bottle filling level is zero. The error is recorded in the logbook, the analysis is stopped immediately and the pump is switched off.

Waste Bottle Filling (G4204A, G4220A/B, G7104A/C, G7120A, G7131A/C and G7132A only)

In the Waste Bottle Filling section, you specify the amount of solvent in the waste bottle, and specify the action to be taken when the waste solvent level gets too high.

The parameters are in two sections:

Waste Filling

In the Waste Filling section, you specify the capacity of the waste container, and its current volume. The waste container filling has two fields:

Enter the capacity of the waste container (in liters) in the Total Volume field. The maximum value is 100.00.

Enter the amount of waste solvent currently in the waste container (in liters) in the Actual Volume field. The maximum value of the Actual Volume is the Total Volume of the bottle.

The Actual Volume field is updated as the solvent is pumped. When you empty the waste container, enter the new actual volume in the appropriate Actual Volume field.

No direct measurement of the levels in the waste container is done; the amount of waste solvent is calculated by the amount of solvent pumped, and the Actual Volume set.

Actions

In the Actions section, you specify the action to be taken if the waste solvent level rises too high.

Mark the Prevent analysis if level rises above check box, and enter a threshold in the field to ensure that the pump generates a Not Ready condition if the calculated waste container filling level rises above the set threshold. The current run is completed, but the sequence/worklist will not continue with the next analysis.

Mark the Turn pump off if waste volume has reached maximum limit check box to ensure that the pump generates an error if the calculated waste container filling level has reached its maximum level. The error is recorded in the logbook, the analysis is stopped immediately and the pump is switched off.
