Injection Mode (Dual Loop Autosampler)

The Injection Mode section contains the injection parameters. Note that these settings are ignored when Pretreatment/Injector Program is defined.

Injection Loop

    For the method, you need to define the loop that is used during the method by selecting the option Injection Loop. Depending on the selection, the injector bitmap in the system diagram shows the current used injection loop (upper/lower):

  • Lower

    The front seat capillary is connected to the front injection seat and the lower injection loop.

  • Upper

    The back seat capillary is connected to the back injection seat and the upper injection loop.

Partial loop filling

You can partially fill a loop with sample by specifying a sample amount in the Partial loop filling option. The specified amount is filled into the loop led by a plug solvent and followed by a plug solvent, and then ends with flush solvent.

Fill loop with overfill factor

This option can be used to increase the injection precision within the loop.

When this option is selected, x times the loop size (where x is the specified overfill factor) is pushed into and through the loop, thus overfilling the loop.

When the sample is injected into the chromatographic flow path, excess sample remains in the needle, the seat, seat capillary and the waste line. This excess amount of sample is then flushed to waste.

The minimum overfill factor is 1.0.

The maximum overfill factor depends on the current setup and is determined by the following formula:

Overfill factor <= (syringe volume - (seat capillary volume + 2 * plug volume + 4.9 µL))/loop volume

When Fill loop with overfill factor is selected, the injection volume specified in the Sequence Table/worklist does not overwrite the injection volume specified in the method.
