The Wash Needle dialog box allows you to wash the needle without modifying your current method. The needle wash specified in this dialog box is carried out immediately.
Mode |
Select the wash location by clicking the down-arrow and selecting the needle wash mode from the list. You can select either Flush Port (default location) or Wash Vial. |
Time |
This field is enabled only if you have selected Flush Port. It enables you to specify a flush time in seconds between 0.0 and 100.0 in steps of 0.1. The peristaltic pump continues purging while the needle is lifted to ensure that the wash solvent is flushed completely to waste. |
Location | This field is enabled only if you have selected Wash Vial. The Location field allows you to specify a wash location. |
Repeat | This field is available only if you have selected Wash Vial. You can specify up to 5 repeat washes; the default is 3. |
Draw Position |
This field is available only if you have selected Wash Vial. It enables you to specify the needle height in mm while drawing solvent; you can specify values between -10.0 and 50.0 in steps of 0.1 The offset of the autosampler needle is calculated from the bottom of the well, with a slight amount of clearance to cover tolerances. Use a negative offset to touch the well bottom with the needle. Use a positive offset to raise the needle higher in the well. |
