Prepare Sampler Settings and Start

The Prepare Sampler settings are in two sections:

Prime

Prime Bottle Head Assembly

Mark this check box to prime the flow path from the solvent bottle to the solvent distribution block before the Auto-clean is executed. Priming is carried out in accordance with the table.

If the check box is cleared, no prime is executed, but the table can be edited.

The table allows you to specify up to three solvents that will be used to prime the sampler.

For each priming solvent,

  • Mark the Prime check box to include this solvent. If the check box is cleared, the solvent is ignored.

  • Specify a duration (in seconds) in the Time [s] field.

Auto-clean

The table allows you to specify up to four steps that will be used to clean the system. The Start Cond. step is not executed unless specified. Therefore, we recommend that you mark the check box to ensure that, at the end of the cleaning procedure, the flowpath of the sampler is filled with the starting solvent conditions for the next sample.

For each cleaning step,

  • Click the Solvent down arrow and select the solvent to use (S1, S2, S3) or switch the step Off.

  • Specify a duration (in seconds) in the Time [s] field.

  • Mark the check boxes for Needle Inner (the inside of the needle),Needle Outer (the outside of the needle) and/or Draw Port to include these actions. If all three are selected, they are carried out simultaneously; if none is selected, the step is ignored (equivalent to selecting Off).
