The items in the Universal Interface Box graphic have the following meaning and function:

Actuals

The following Universal Interface Box actuals are displayed:

Analog out

The current source of the Analog Out signal or Test Signal.

Contact <n>

The current states of the four external contacts.

Analog in

The current Analog In signal,

Voltage out (5V)

The current state of the 5V Voltage Out.

Voltage out (24V)

The current state of the 24V Voltage Out.

GPIO ports used by

The current user of the GPIO port.

ERI mode

The current mode of the Extended Remote Interface.

Context Menu

The context menu contains the following commands:

Control

Displays the universal interface box's Control dialog box.

Method

Displays the universal interface box's Method Setup dialog box.

Error Method

  • Set Error Method

    Sets the error method to the method that is currently available in the hardware. The error methods are loaded automatically on all modules if an error occurs.

  • Clear Error Method

    Removes the currently loaded error method.

Identify Device

Causes the LED on the front of the module to blink for a few seconds.
