Vent the SQ (LC/MS)

You use the commands in the shortcut menu for the SQ device in the Instrument Status window to vent the MS.

You are shown a caution message before you can vent the system.

Once the Vent cycle has started, the Vent cycle must complete before the instrument can be pumped down again. Once vented, the instrument must be powered off and unplugged before servicing. You need to close the connection to the instrument in the software before starting the instrument again.

1. If needed, click Instrument Status.

2. If needed, click Take. In this image, Take is already selected.

3. In the Instrument Status window, click the Dashboard tab.
4. Right-click the SQ device, and select Vent.
5. If you want to Vent the instrument, click Yes to proceed with venting.
