View profile scans

When you are acquiring data, profile scans are visible in the Spectrum window. Perform this procedure if you want to display the data in continuous (profile) mode rather than centroided.

  1. Click Method.

  2. In the Acquisition Method window in the navigation pane, click Instrument Setup > SQ.

  3. If needed, click Spectrum.

  4. In the navigation pane, select Tune > Acquisition.

  5. If needed, click Take. In this image, Take is already selected.

  6. (optional) Open a different tune file. Click TB_OpenATuneFile.jpg to open the Load Tune File dialog. Select a tune file and click Load.

  7. Click TB_TuneControl.jpg to lock the instrument for tuning. You need to unlock the instrument after you finish tuning.

  8. Select the Polarity. Select Positive or Negative.

  9. Select Profile as the Acquisition type.

  10. Enter the Samples and Averages for Profile.

  11. Select or clear Centroid .

  12. Click TB_AcquireWithTuneParameters.jpg to start acquiring data.

    In the Spectrum window, a profile scan is shown. You can continue to do other actions in Tune such as ramping parameters and changing values while you are acquiring data.

  13. To stop acquiring data, click TB_StopTuneAcquisition.jpg.

  14. Click TB_UnlockTune.jpg to unlock the instrument. You need to unlock the instrument after you finish tuning.
