Schedule Tune dialog (LC/MS)

A Checktune or an Autotune can be scheduled to run at a set interval. The Schedule Tune dialog has two panes. Select either Checktune or Autotune in the left pane. The information in the right pane shows the current schedule for the selected tune.

In the right pane, select to enable Scheduling, and select run the tune Weekly or Monthly.

If you select Weekly, set the options for scheduling each week.

  1. Enter a value for the number of weeks until the tune is scheduled again. If you enter 1, then the tune is scheduled every week. If you enter 2, then the tune is scheduled every other week. If you enter 3, then the tune is scheduled every third week. Enter a value from 1 to 99.

  2. Select one or more days of the week to run the tune.

  3. Select the Start date. Either enter the date manually, or click calendar.png to select a date.

  4. Select the Time to run the tune.

  5. Click Save.

If you select Monthly, set the options for scheduling each month.

  1. Select when to run the tune.

  2. Select the Start date. Either enter the date manually, or click calendar.png to select a date.

    • Day X of every Y month(s) – Specify a specific date to use each month. If the current month has fewer days than the day entered, a message is shown to indicate the occurrence will fall on the last day of the month. This change is reflected in the Day box. You also specify the monthly recur value (from 1 to 99). If you specify 1, then the tune is performed on the specified date each month. If you specify 2, then the tune is performed every other month.

    • The X day of every Y month(s) – Select a specific day of a specific week during the month. The options include FirstSecondThirdFourth, and Last. Then, select the day of the week, and enter the monthly recur value (from 1 to 99). If you specify 1, then the tune is performed on the specified day and week each month. If you specify 2, then the tune is performed every other month.

  3. Select the Time to run the tune.

  4. Click Save.

The Autotune and Checktune are triggered according to the schedule defined in the user interface.

  • A scheduled Checktune or Autotune is only run when a sequence or single sample is not running.

  • If the instrument is busy, the scheduled tune is delayed or skipped.

  • If the Checktune is out of tolerance, the system automatically launches an Autotune using the same polarity or polarities as the one that failed.

  • If the device is offline or in an error state, the scheduled tune is not run.

  • When Autotune and Checktune are scheduled for the same time, Autotune takes priority, and the scheduled Checktune is ignored.

  • If a scheduled Checktune or Autotune is missed, then it is made up as soon as possible.

  • If multiple Autotunes and Checktunes are missed, only one Autotune is run when the instrument becomes available.

  • If only 1 or more Checktunes are missed, 1 Checktune is run when the instrument becomes available.

  • A message is added to the Activity Log that a scheduled tune was missed in the time range.

  • If Schedule Tune is running, all of the Tune buttons are disabled except the Abort tune button. For the client/server environment, if you do not have OpenLab control and a schedule tune is running, all buttons are disabled.

  • The Tune report is generated and opens on each client in the client/server environment.

  • If you try to run a scheduled Autotune, and the current source is not supported, then a message is logged that states that the Autotune is not supported with that source.
