If the LC/MS cannot pump down (LC/MS)

If the LC/MS does not pump down, you can try the following:

  • Power cycle the instrument.  You turn off and on the power switch to initialize the pump down process again. You must turn the instrument on within 30 seconds, or the instrument will automatically vent.
  • Check if the rough pump started.
  • If the rough pump did not start, then one of the fuses could have blown, or you could have a bad rough pump or bad electronics components. You may require Agilent service.
    Make sure the instrument is off and the power cord is unplugged from the instrument before moving fuses off the instrument.
