Instrument Traces

For MS Purity Ion peaks snippet, the Instrument Traces tab is not supported.

The settings in this area are only active if you selected the display format Separate or Overlaid on the Multi Signals page.

  • With the Include Instrument Traces check box, you can show or hide the instrument traces in a chromatogram.

  • With the Include Chromatogram check box, you define whether the chromatogram or chromatograms shall be shown together with the instrument trace or not. If you select this check box, any filtering on detector signals will also be applied to the chromatograms shown in the instrument trace diagram.

Filter List

Under Filter List, you can filter for the traces of specific signals:

Expression

The filter expression is always SIGNAL NAME.

Operation

If you select Contains, wildcards will be added automatically (if not already entered) before and after the value.

Value

In the Value field, enter the name of the instrument trace you want to include. Do not use quotes to enclose the value.

Multiple expressions

If you use multiple expressions in a filter condition, the expressions are linked by And or Or. The way two consecutive expressions are linked is set automatically by RTE according to the following rules:

  • If the expressions use different operators, or if they use operators other than Equals (=), they are linked by And.

  • If both expressions use the Equals (=) operator, they are linked by Or.

Move the selected expression upwards.

Move the selected expression downwards.

Remove the selected expression.

Instrument Signal Style

The default color for instrument traces is green.

Custom Style

Define specific colors, pen widths, and dash styles for your instrument traces. The instrument traces are shown as numbered signals (Signal 1 to Signal 8) in the drop-down list.

If your data includes more than eight instruments traces, the colours starting from Signal 1 will be used again for the additional instrument traces.
