To save a report template, click
Save Template in the ribbon, or choose Save Template as from the submenu of this button.
The Save Template command is only available if the report template is writable. Templates are read-only if they have been archived in place in Content Management. A Read-only template can only be saved as a new file.
NOTE
You can choose any location within the Report Templates path defined in the Control Panel. This path may be set to a location that is common to several projects. Thus, sharing report templates across multiple projects is possible.
To use this feature, the shared path must be located below the project path of one of the projects. All users who want to share templates must have the privilege to access this project.
To create a new report type, choose Save as Base Template from the submenu of the Save Template button.
Base templates are saved to the .custombasetemplates subfolder of the Report Templates path defined in the Control Panel. Base templates are not listed in the Report Templates tree. You can only choose them as report type when creating a new template.
NOTE
Saving base templates is not available on systems using OpenLab ECM 3.x as a central data storage. See Restrictions due to ECM 3.x storage model.
