The items in the RID graphic have the following meaning and function:

             | The RID is in standard mode, neither purging nor recycling. | 
| 
 | The RID is purging; the purge valve is on. | 
| 
 | The RID is recycling; the recycle valve is on. | 
| 
             | When balancing is in progress, the graphic is yellow (not ready). | 
| 
 | Displays the state of the optical unit heater, off (left) or on (right). | 
| 
 | Indicates that an External Contacts board is installed (G1362A only). | 
The following RID actuals are displayed:
| Optical Unit Temperature | The current temperature of the optical unit (in °C). | 
| Diode Balance | The diode balance ratio between sample and reference. | 
| Recycling | The status of the recycling valve (either off or the length of time it has been on). | 
| Purge | The status of the purge valve (either off or the length of time it has been on). | 
| RI Signal | The signal output (in nRIU). | 
| Polarity | The current signal polarity (pos or neg). | 
| Wait after Purge | The time remaining after purging before the RID is ready. | 
The context menu contains the following commands:

             | Displays the detector's Control dialog box. | 
| 
             | Displays the detector's Method Setup dialog box. |

 | Causes the LED on the front of the module to blink for a few seconds. | 
| 
 | Balances the detector. | 
| 
 | Switches the optical unit heater on. | 
| 
             | Switches the optical unit heater off. | 
| 
             | Opens the purge valve. | 
| 
             | Closes the purge valve. | 
| 
             | Switches on recycling of the solvent. | 
| 
 | Switches off recycling of the solvent. |
