In the Level Sensing Assignment dialog box, you assign the channels, specify the amount of liquid in the solvent bottles, and specify the action to be taken when the level gets too low.
The dialog box is present only when Level Sensing is configured. It shows one tab per configured Level Sensing cabinet (usually only one). They are numbered LS-1, LS-2, ...
The graphic on the left side shows the bottle positions in the Level Sensing cabinet. Its type ID and serial number are shown below. Identify Device causes the LED on the front of the cabinet to blink for a few seconds (only available with more than one Level Sensing cabinet).
To view or modify the parameters of a bottle, click on the position in the graphic.
For each position, the following parameters are displayed:
<Selected position> - Position
Channel Assignment | Select the channel from the selection list. The parameter settings for the assigned channel override the settings for the bottle in the Bottle Fillings dialog box.
Solvent Name | Enter a name.
Actual Volume | Specify the amount of the solvent currently in the solvent bottle (in liters). The maximum value is the Bottle Volume.
Bottle Volume | Specify the capacity of the solvent bottle (in liters).
Solvent changed | Mark the check box if you have changed the solvent. A change in density affects the calculation of the solvent level.

<Selected position> - Limits
In this section, you specify the action to be taken if the solvent level falls too low.
Prevent analysis if level falls below | Mark the check box, and specify a threshold in the field to ensure that the pump generates a Not Ready condition if the calculated solvent bottle filling level falls below the set threshold. The current run is completed, but the sequence/worklist will not continue with the next analysis.
Turn pump off if running out of solvent | Mark the check box, and specify a threshold in the field to ensure that the pump generates an error if the calculated solvent bottle filling level falls below the set threshold. The error is recorded in the logbook, the analysis is stopped immediately and the pump is switched off. |
