NOTE
Multiple Wavelengths is not available with the G1321C or G7121A FLDs.
You can choose to use three additional wavelengths, either excitation or emission wavelengths in your analysis. Choose Off to switch off multiple wavelengths, or Multi Ex or Multi Em to set up multiple wavelengths.
NOTE
The more signals selected, the lower will be the sensitivity; the sensitivity reduces as the square root of the number of signals measured.
Use additional Excitation and Use additional Emission allow you to specify three additional excitation or emission wavelengths. Select the check box for each additional wavelength you wish to use, and specify the wavelength in the adjacent field.
Excitation limits: 200 to 1000 nm in steps of 1 nm, or Zero Order (Ex) (0).
Emission limits: 200 to 1000 nm in steps of 1 nm, or Zero Order (Em) (0).
The full spectrum of light from the Xenon lamp illuminates the flow cell. Each compound can absorb its characteristic wavelength of light and then emit maximum fluorescence. An increased stray light level is inherent in this setting, and this will decrease sensitivity (signal-to-noise).
Zero order sets the monochromator so that all light emitted from the sample will be reflected onto the detector.
