Save an analysis

Click Save to perform two actions: validation of the parameters, then update of the Sample Scheduler database with the new values.

  • If an erroneous value has been defined for a CDS parameter (project, user, instrument, method), you are prompted to define a valid value.

Instruments and acquisition methods must always be linked to the selected project. An instrument might be linked to a default project, as defined in the Control Panel (for more information about defining a default project for a specific instrument, see edit an instrument in the Control Panel online help. If your entries do not correspond to the defined settings, you will receive one of the following notifications after saving:

    • Invalid Parameter(s) Project: The instrument 'name of instrument' cannot be used with the selected project since it is set to always use the project 'name of project'.

    • Invalid Parameter(s) Acq. Method: The acquisition method 'name of method' does not exist in the project 'name of project'.

When the notifications are displayed, click:

    • OK to continue editing. The invalid value remains in the Analysis Table and has to be changed.

    • Cancel to discard your changes.

  • If no value is assigned to another parameter that is required by the CDS (project, instrument, acquisition method, injection source), the analysis turns into Incomplete state and the parameter with missing value is color coded. Click on the State cell of the analysis to get the list of missing values. The i symbol, on the State cell, indicates that information can be accessed by clicking this position.

  • If all parameters values are valid, the analysis turns into Waiting state.

Edit the parameters to modify, then click Save.

Note that the analysis can also be validated by clicking another analysis in the table.
