To Import a Valve and Loop HS Method

To import an existing valve and loop headspace sampler (HS) method, use the built-in conversion wizard to automatically convert the parameters to values appropriate for the current model Agilent HS. The wizard will apply changes to the currently-loaded method.

1. If desired, save the current method. The wizard changes the current method, so any unsaved changes will be lost.
2. Configure the HS for the new method. See To Configure the Headspace Sampler.
3. Open the HS method editor.
4. Click the Method Development icon.
5. Click Convert an existing valve and loop Headspace method.
6. Enter all known parameters from the existing HS method into the wizard.
   • For descriptions of the parameters, see Converting an Existing Valve and Loop Headspace Method.
   • Leave any unknown parameters blank. The wizard will apply a default parameter if needed.
7. Click Preview Changes and review the new and changed parameters.
8. If acceptable, click Accept Changes. The software will apply recommended settings to the current method. These settings represent reasonable starting values during method development. To return to the wizard, click Reject Changes. See Confirm Changes Dialog.
9. Review the changed method.
   • Edit any parameter as needed.
10. Save the revised method with a new name (if desired).
