Whenever an EIC or SIM is extracted due to a target or qualifier evaluation, an extraction window may be relevant:
If you define an absolute or relative extraction window in the processing method, only a limited time range around a compound's expected retention time is used for extraction. See Processing method: Extraction: Chromatogram (MS tab).
If the extraction time range starts before the beginning of a signal, the extraction window is cut and begins when signal acquisition begins.
If the extraction time range goes beyond the end of a signal, the extraction window is cut and ends when signal acquisition ends.
If the extraction time range overlaps both ends of the signal, the extraction window is ignored, and the entire time range of signal acquisition is used.
If no extraction time range is defined (both absolute and relative extraction window set to zero), the entire time range of signal acquisition is used.
The expected extraction retention time window for each target or qualifier is shown in the compound table in the Extraction window (min) column. The column is hidden by default. Use the column chooser to display it.
To apply a changed extraction window, reprocess your data. If used, the extraction time range is shown in the EIC or SIM signal name.
