Convert qualifier into a compound

An ion initially identified as a qualifier may actually represent a compound. Follow these steps to convert the qualifier into a new compound.

Privileges

• OpenLab CDS: Method Development > Edit identification parameters .
  Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.

Prerequisites

• If the project enforces method approval, the method status must be Generic. For details, see Method approval.

1. In the processing method, select the Compounds > Identification node (Compound Table tab).

2. Select the compound to which the qualifier is currently assigned.

3. In the Qualifier group details window to the right of the compound table: Right-click the qualifier from which you want to create a new compound, then select Make new compound from qualifier.

   The qualifier is removed from the qualifier group. A new compound with the corresponding EIC or SIM signal and expected retention time is added to the compound table.

4. Reprocess to update the results.
