To use background subtraction, first define the relevant background spectrum.
The background spectrum will automatically be subtracted from all subsequently created spectra. The time point or time range used for subtraction is shown in the spectrum name.
Load data, and link it to a method that supports MS data (see MS method configurations).
In the the processing method, select Extraction > Spectrum > MS tab. Choose appropriate Background mode settings.
Under Arbitrary spectra, select Use external time range to use background correction for spectra that are not peak spectra.
Under Peak spectra, choose a Background mode. The corresponding spectrum is used as a background for peak spectra. It will be subtracted from all peak spectra.
If you use an external time for peak spectra or for arbitrary spectra: Define the External background time range.
