Lock or unlock the Data Analysis session

This procedure explains how to manually lock the Data Analysis session. The session is automatically locked if there is no user activity on the computer for a certain time. The inactivity time is set in the Control Panel.

Preparations

  • This feature is only available if you log in to OpenLab CDS with a username and password. User authentication is configured in the Control Panel (see System Configuration).

  1. To lock the session, press Ctrl+L.

    Or

Select the File ribbon tab, and click Lock.

  2. To unlock the session, log in with your own user name and password. Alternatively, any user with the privilege to unlock a locked user interface can log in. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.

    NOTE

If a different user unlocks a locked user interface, the Data Analysis session will be closed. Any data, method, or report template that is still open will be closed without saving. A corresponding warning is shown if there are unsaved items.
