Data consistency

When working in a compliant system, it is important that all saved and printed results are consistent. To ensure this, the check box Allow printing of unsaved processing methods and results must be cleared in the project settings in the Control Panel (see Add a project).

With the check box cleared, only consistent data can be saved, and only saved data can be signed or printed. To help you identifying changed or inconsistent data, the application shows the following indicators:

  • Inconsistent data, where the processing method or the parameters in the injection list have been modified, are marked with an exclamation mark in the injection tree.

  • Updated or changed methods are marked with a pencil icon in the method selector. The change can be caused by:

    • automatic updates during reprocessing, such as calibration calculations or retention time updates. These automatic updates do not affect data consistency or update the method version upon saving.

    • interactive changes to the method parameters. These changes update the method version upon saving.

    • additional entries to the method audit trail caused by an audit trail review or injection linking. Neither of these actions update the method version.

  • A prepended asterisk (*) indicates that the original result set method was interactively modified after linking, and the method version was updated. This asterisk is for information only, it does not indicate an inconsistency.
