Oven
To set the Oven parameters:
- Check Oven Temp On to enable the oven. Clearing the checkbox turns off both the oven heater and fan.
- Enter the Maximum Oven Temperature (in °C). The Maximum Oven Temperature is the maximum allowed oven temperature setpoint. Some columns and accessories have specific temperature limitations: Maximum Oven Temperature provides a limit to prevent thermal damage. Note the following:
-
Maximum Oven Temperature is internally set to the least of the column maximum temperatures for columns heated by the oven by default. You can set a lower limit if desired.
-
Oven temperature will not exceed the Maximum Oven Temperature value, unless the Override Column Max checkbox is selected.
-
The Maximum Oven Temperature value invalidates any value(s) exceeding it in a ramped oven temperature program.
-
Select Override Column Max (in °C) to allow an oven temperature greater than the column maximum temperature setpoint (up to the GC maximum temperature setpoint). If the Maximum Oven Temperature is greater than the column maximum temperature, the Override Column Max label highlights.
- Enter the Equilibration Time in minutes. The Equilibration Time is the length of time the oven remains at the specified temperature before the system is ready for a run. Equilibration Time begins when the actual oven temperature stays within 0.5 °C of the oven temperature setting. Note that Equilibration Time is not part of the run time.
- Enter the Post Run Time as desired. The Post Run Time is the length of time that the oven holds the Post Run temperature after a run. Changing the Post Run time here also changes the time for any backflush program you have created. You will need to re-evaluate your backflush program.
- Program any Temperature Ramps.
- Enter the Post Run temperature value as desired. After the oven program ends, the oven heats or cools to this temperature and holds it for the time specified in the Post Run Time field.
- If cryogenic cooling is installed, enable/disable Cryo cooling and set its parameters.
Note that the oven total Run Time controls the maximum Run Time in all other flow, pressure, and temperature programs. For example, inlet and column program times cannot exceed the total oven Run Time.
