If necessary, you may customize the tuning criteria of an autotune file to suit your needs. These customized tune files will have an asterisk (*) appended to the end of the Tune Type (Atune*, Etune*, Target Tune*).
For example:
|
File Name |
Tune Type |
Original file: |
Atune |
Atune |
New file: |
Atune |
Atune* |
NOTE - The HES ion source and corresponding tune algorithm do not support customized tune files.
Open the autotune file you wish to customize (e.g., Atune, or Etune).
Select Tune > Manual Tune > Parameters to edit the Emission setting, or select Tune > Custom Tune to edit the Tune Criteria or Masses, and enter the changes, as required, for your customized tune. Notice that as soon as you make any change to these settings, an asterisk (*) is appended to the end of the Tune Type (e.g., Atune*).
Avoid using ions that are within 100 amu of each other when doing a Custom Tune. Choosing masses that are less than 100 amu apart will result in an aborted tune procedure.
Click Save the tune parameters to save the changes to this file.
If, at some later date, you wish to return to the default settings for this tune file, you may do so. See Default Tune Files.
