Add a MS to OpenLAB

To add a MS instrument to OpenLAB:

  1. Access the OpenLAB Control Panel .

  2. Click Instruments > Create Instrument.

  3. Type a name and (optionally) a description for your instrument. The Application and Instrument controller boxes will be automatically filled in.

  4. Select Agilent GC & GC/MS Systems for the Instrument type.

  5. Optionally, enter a contact's name for this instrument.

  6. Select a project from the Default project list. The project defines where the methods, data, sequences, and templates used for this instrument are saved.

  7. To prevent users from storing methods, data, sequences, or templates used for this instrument in a different project, select always use default project with this instrument.

  8. Click OK. The newly created instrument is added to the navigation pane.

  9. Before you can use this instrument, it must be configured. See Configure the MS for details.
