Thermostat installed

This check box is marked to show that a sample cooling device or thermostat is installed.

  • Mode

Select Constant temperature mode to set the temperature using the Thermostat section of the Vialsampler Control parameters. Use this mode to store samples at a constant temperature across multiple runs. This is the default mode, which is recommended in most cases.

Select Variable temperature mode to set the temperature using the Thermostat section of the Advanced Method Setup parameters. In this mode, the temperature can be varied from run to run.

Use Variable temperature mode with care. All samples in the storage compartment are exposed to the set temperature for any current method. Unintended change of the sample temperature may cause degradation. It may take some time to reach the set temperature.

  • Thermostat

Click the down-arrow and select the installed device (Cooler or Thermostat) from the drop-down list.

The Vialsampler Cooler does not offer a heating function. A temperature higher than the previous setting, or higher than ambient, may only be reached after a long time, if ever.

External tray installed

Mark this check box if you have an external tray installed and you want to use it. When this check box is marked, the external tray is shown in the Tray user interface, and vial positions for the external tray are allowed.

The settings in the Options section can be used to configure an offline instrument. When you switch to online mode, this information is read directly from the instrument. To change the configuration of an online instrument, use the Modify menu from the Dashboard context menu.
