The collection settings are in up to three sections:
Select the order in which the locations are to be used for collecting fractions.
The graphics reflect the orientation of the container in the fraction collector. |
You can select from:
| Collection starts into A1, A2 ... A12, then continues with B1, B2 ... |
|
Collection starts into A1, B1 ... H1, then continues with A2, B2 ... |
| Collection starts into A1, B1 ... H1, then continues with H2, G2 ... |
| Collection starts into A1, A2 ... A12, then continues with B12, B11 ... |
The selection applies to all containers.
The forbidden locations are not used for fraction collection.
Container(s) |
Specify the container(s) that you do not want used for fraction collection using the syntax according to the plate naming scheme supported by your CDS. Separate multiple containers with commas. Depending on the CDS, you may need to use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to specify a complete container, for example, P1-** (classic naming) or 1-D1F-** (modern naming), where 1- denotes the first fraction collector in a cluster. |
Row(s) |
Specify the row(s) that you do not want used for fraction collection using the syntax <plate>-<row>, where <plate> is the plate identifier according to the plate naming scheme supported by your CDS, and <row> is the row identifier, for example, P1-B (classic naming) or D1F-B (modern naming). Separate multiple rows with commas. Depending on the CDS, you may need to use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to specify the complete row, for example, P1-A* (classic naming) or 1-D1F-A* (modern naming). |
Columns |
Specify the column(s) that you do not want used for fraction collection using the syntax <plate>-<col>, where <plate> is the plate identifier according to the plate naming scheme supported by your CDS, and <col> is the column identifier, for example, P1-2 (classic naming) or D1F-2 (modern naming). Separate multiple columns with commas. Depending on the CDS, you may need to use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to specify the complete column, for example, P1-*1 (classic naming) or 1-D1F-*1 (modern naming). |
Single Location(s) | Specify the single location(s) that you do not want used for fraction collection using the syntax <plate>-<row><col>, where <plate> is the plate identifier according to the plate naming scheme supported by your CDS, <row> is the row identifier and <col> is the column identifier, for example, P1-B2 (classic naming) or D1F-B2 (modern naming). Separate multiple locations with commas. |
If you specify forbidden locations for a specific container, and then change the container to one that does not support the specified locations, the forbidden locations are ignored, but no error is generated. |
Type the list of single locations that will not be used for fraction collection in the field, for example, Vial 1, Vial 2 and so on. You cannot specify complete rows or columns as forbidden locations.
Discrete Fractions |
The diverter valve switches to waste before needle moves to the next fraction position. |
Continuous Flow | The diverter valve does not switch during the needle movement (except for long movements, for example, from A-12 to B-1). |
