Module Graphic

The items in the fraction collector graphic have the following meaning and function:

Actuals

The following fraction collector actuals are displayed:

Current location

The fraction location currently in use.

Fraction Mode

The current fraction mode, On or Off.

Recovery Mode

FCC only

The current recovery mode, On or Off.

Rinse Status

G1364F, G5664B and G7159B only

The status of the Rinse procedure

Purge Status

G7166A only

The purge time of the purge procedure.

In the case of an FCC, the purge time is displayed per module.

Active FC

FCC only

The currently active fraction collector.

Active RC

FCC only

The currently active recovery collector.

Flush Status

G7166A only

The status of the Flush procedure

Temperature

G1364F and G5664B with thermostat configured

The fraction thermostat temperature (in ° C).

In the case of an FCC, the module name is also displayed

Context Menu

The context menu contains the following commands:

Control

Displays the fraction collector's Control dialog box.

Method

Displays the fraction collector's Method Setup dialog box.

Error Method

  • Set Error Method

    Sets the error method to the method that is currently available in the hardware. The error methods are loaded automatically on all modules if an error occurs.

  • Clear Error Method

    Removes the currently loaded error method.

Identify Device

Causes the LED on the front of the module to blink for a few seconds.

Home Arm

G7159B only

Moves the robot arm to its home position.

Reset Fraction Collector

Not G7166A

Sends a reset signal to fraction collector. During the reset, the fraction collector is in a Not Ready state.

Reset Fraction Volumes

Displays the Reset Fraction Volumes dialog box, which allows you to reset the fill volumes currently stored in the device.

Set Fraction Start Location

Allows you to specify a start location for fraction collection.

This function is not available if your data system supports setting the fraction start location. In this case, use your data system's function to set the fraction start location.

Rinse

G1364F, G5664B and G7159B

Displays the Rinse dialog box, which allows you to specify the rinse parameters.

Stop Rinse

G1364F, G5664B and G7159B

Stops a rinse that is already in progress.

Start Flush with Air

G7166A only

Flushes all ports of your instruments simultaneously with pressurized air. The procedure can be started irrespective of whether fraction collection is in progress or not, and flushes all ports that are currently not in use.

Use Modify > Flush with Air Duration to change the flush time.

Start Purge

G7166A only

Displays the Start Purge dialog box, which allows you to purge selected channels with solvent.

Modify

  • Wellplate Assignment

    Not G7166A

    Displays the Modify Wellplate Assignment dialog box, which allows you to view and (if necessary) change the wellplate assignment off the containers.

    Changes to the currently active drawer are rejected.

  • Collection Settings

    Displays the Modify Collection Settings dialog box, which allows you to select the collection order and forbidden locations.

  • Detector Delay Volumes

    If no detectors are configured, this command is disabled.

    Displays the Modify Detector Delay Volumes dialog box, which allows you to view and (if necessary) modify the delay volumes stored in your device.

    Change these settings only if proper delay calibration values are available.

  • Linked Pump

    Displays the Modify Linked Pump dialog box, which allows you to view and (if necessary) change the pump that delivers the flow to your device.

  • Flush with air duration

    G7166A only

    Displays the Flush with Air Duration dialog box, which allows you to specify the duration of the flush with air (range 1 - 60 s).

    Any change you make here affects the duration of both the Flush with Air function and any flush with air done between samples.

  • Maximum Fill Volumes

    G7166A only

    Displays the Maximum Fill Volumes dialog box, which allows you to specify the maximum fill volumes for each of the eleven locations.

    When you modify the Maximum Fill Volumes, the Fraction Volumes are also reset.

  • Needle and Tubing

    G1364E/F and G5664B only

    Displays the Modify Needle and Tubing dialog box.

  • Needle Position

    G1364E/F and G5664B only

    Displays the Modify Needle Position dialog box.

  • Recovery Settings

    FCC only

    Displays the Modify Recovery Settings dialog box, which allows you to specify the starting location on the recovery collector for eluent recovery and the action to take when no more recovery locations are available.

  • Vessel Dimensions

    Displays the Modify Vessel Dimensions dialog box, which allows you to modify the volumes and/or heights of vessels in tube trays and funnel trays.
