Samples is the number of data points collected at each mass during a scan. The data points are averaged and a single value is reported.

Increasing Samples helps distinguish small signals from noise but decreases the scan speed. Decreasing Samples increases scan speed but makes it more likely that small signals will not be identified. Decreasing Samples affects higher masses more than lower masses. Setting Samples to 1 should rarely be done. It can result in poor sensitivity, poor resolution, and poor data quality.
The Samples parameter does not affect data acquisition.
