Specify export options

  1. In the toolbar, click to open the Report Properties.

  2. On the Export Formats page, select the output formats for PDF and text exports.

    • PDF export:

      • Standard PDF: No special security or archiving functions.

      • Secure PDF: Use this format to protect a PDF against modification. OpenLab CDS automatically generates and activates a random password.

For example, a lab is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and needs to send a PDF to governmental institution. They must guarantee that the PDF cannot be modified.

      • PDF/A-1b: Use this format for documents that need to be long-term archived. This standard guarantees that the PDF can be correctly viewed and reprocessed even after decades. The file size is a bit larger due to embedded fonts and other meta information.

    • Text/CSV export:

      • Formatted text export: Add characters such as pipes and underscores to structure the plain text. Use this format to generate human-readable files.

      • Plain text export: Export plain text only. Use this format to generate machine-readable files.

      • CSV delimiter: Use this as a separation character for the CSV output format. The specified character will be used as field data value separator for the CSV file.

NOTE: Summary calculations in matrices are not supported with the CSV output format.

    • Text/CSV encoding:

      • UTF-8: Use this encoding to export in UTF-8 (8-bit Unicode Transformation Format). It is a character encoding capable of encoding all possible characters or code points.
