Save a report from the preview

Prerequisites

To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privileges Data > Save reports to disk and Data Processing > Print results reports. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.

In the Reporting view, the generated report is shown in the Report Preview window.

  1. In the ribbon, click Refresh Preview to make sure the report shows the current data.

  2. In the ribbon, click the Save button corresponding to the required format. You can choose among the formats DOCX, XLSX, PDF, or TXT/CSV.

  3. A Save As dialog opens.

TXT and CSV files do not contain any pictures. Chromatograms, calibration curves, spectra, and charts are not available in this format.

The default templates are not designed for a text-only layout. You may want to create your own report template for text exports.

In XSLX files, all numerical values (including percentage) are formatted as numbers and can be used in further Excel calculations. The number of decimal places of the values in Excel is the same as configured in the template. Other format types (for example, DateTime) are formatted as text.

XLSX files do not contain information related to the print layout (such as headers, footers, or page margins). Also borders and background colors or background images are not exported to Excel.

  4. Specify the file name and location for the report, and click Save.

  5. If you have the privilege to save reports to the disk, select the appropriate tab to save the report either in the secure storage system or in the Windows file system. Without the privilege, only OpenLab CDS storage locations are available. You can choose any location within the project path defined in the Control Panel.
