In the MS tab, you set the parameters used to extract MS spectra from signals in the 2nd dimension:
Arbitrary spectra | If desired, select Use external time range to use the time range defined below for background subtraction. This setting affects all time point spectra that are not peak spectra. You can extract such spectra with the spectrum extraction tool. |
Peak spectra | Under Spectrum type, define which type of spectrum you want to extract for peaks: Peak apex spectrum: The spectrum will be extracted at the time point of the peak apex. Average peak spectrum: The spectrum will be averaged over the time range of the peak. |
| Under Background mode, choose the spectrum that you want to use as a background spectrum. The corresponding spectrum will be subtracted from all peak spectra:
|
External background time range | If you use an external time for peak spectra or for arbitrary spectra: The average MS spectrum of the given time range is used as a background spectrum. |
