IP Address: Enter the IP address assigned to the 35900E. Get Serial Number and Firmware: Click this button to obtain the serial number and firmware version of the 35900E from the device. If the 35900E is not connected to the LAN or if it did not receive its IP address from a BootP server, the serial number and firmware version will display as Not_Available. Serial Number: The serial number of the 35900E. Get this from the 35900E using the Get Serial Number and Firmware button. (You can also enter this number manually.) Firmware Version: The current firmware version of the 35900E. Get this from the 35900E using the Get Serial Number and Firmware button. (You can also enter the software version manually.) |

External device will start 35900E Select this option to specify that an external device transmits an APG remote Start signal to the 35900E on the APG remote control bus. The 35900 uses this APG remote Start signal to mark the channel's Start run point and enter the Run state. A 35900 that is in the Run state collects data and transmits it to the data system on request. The 35900 continues to collect data for the run time specified in the method unless the method is stopped before reaching this time. Typically select this option when the 35900E is run synchronized to other Agilent devices that support the Start and Ready signals of the APG remote standard. 35900E will start external device Select this option to specify that the 35900E starts an external device by sending an APG remote Start signal to that device. The external device requiring run synchronization with the 35900E must support the Start signal on the Agilent APG remote bus. If the external device also supports the Ready signal of the APG bus, the 35900E will not start the run before the external device's conditions allow it to collect and transmit valid method data. The 35900E waits for the external device to go Ready before initiating a run. The external device first sets the Ready signal on the APG remote bus to signal the 35900E that it is Ready to begin a run. If the external device does not support the Ready signal, the external device must be wired to appear as always ready to the 35900E. The 35900E, when Ready, sends the Start signal on the APG remote bus and enters the run state. The external devices read the Start signal on the APG bus to enter their run state. The 35900E continues to collect data for the run time specified in the method unless the method is stopped before reaching this time. 35900E will operate independently Select this option to specify that the run start time of the 35900E is initiated by a command sent from the data system to the 35900E or by the front panel Start button. The 35900E ignores all communication with the APG remote bus. The Start run time of the 35900E and another instrument cannot be exactly synchronized as when using the APG remote bus. The precise time that each instrument receives the data system command to Start the run is influenced by device design and data rate, LAN traffic, and data system instrument use and data collection rate. Use this selection for external instruments that do not support the APG remote bus standard and don't have the necessary TTL programmable contacts required to emulate the Agilent APG remote Start and Ready signals. With this selection, the data system waits for the Ready state of the 35900E and ignores the Ready signal from external devices on the APG remote bus. |

Channel A/B | |||||||||||||||||||||
Use This Channel |
Specifies that the selected channel is enabled for this device. |
||||||||||||||||||||
Channel Name |
The user-supplied name for the channel. Typically, use a name that helps to describe the type of detector attached to the channel. |
||||||||||||||||||||
Y-Axis Units |
The channel’s digital signal output units for display of signal amplitude in the data system. Note that this entry is only a label and does not impact data. |
||||||||||||||||||||
The number of counts required to equal 1 V input; a value that the connected device specifies for a 1 V output. The 35900E converts its analog input voltage into digital output count units. The Y-Axis Multiplier converts the 35900E default digital output of count units into the Y-axis units selected.
