Purpose: Input signal starting data collection of the SS420X, and signals the CDS via the SS420X driver that an injection took place at the external device. The CDS must be in the state Waiting for Injection.
There are connectors for four independent triggers, so that you can split the SS420X into up to four independent modules using one COM-port. For each module one of these connectors (trigger number 1..4) can be chosen in the Event Configuration dialog.
Depending on the Configured state, the trigger fires at a rising (configured state = Open) or falling edge (configured state = Close).

The trigger is used to start data collection when the method autosampler injection source is External. If No Injection/Instrument blank is selected, the trigger is ignored and data collection starts immediately.
