Commands

Mandatory

The analysis orders generated by the LIMS (thanks to XML commands or collected via SQL queries) contain a set of parameters used by the CDS to perform the acquisitions and process the results (for example, instrument name, vial).

As not all the LIMS are able to provide the same level of information in the analysis order, the Sample Scheduler administrator must define which parameters the LIMS is able to provide, and that will be required mandatorily in all commands.

To select the mandatory parameters, display the Command tab, then check the parameters in the Mandatory column.

Figure Commands

Once a command is generated by the LIMS, the Sample Scheduler LIMS agent checks if all the mandatory parameters are present. If they are all present, an analysis is generated. If at least one of the mandatory parameters is missing from the command, the command is trashed (sent to the LIMS_Commands/trash folder), no analysis is generated.

The default selected parameters are the ones required by the CDS to start the analysis: SampleName, Project, Instrument, InjectionSource, AcquisitionMethod, ResultName, Vial, and InjectionVolume (either InjectionVolume or UseMethodInjectionVolume).

NOTE

The parameters listed in the Command table can all be defined in a command.

The parameter names correspond to the ones used in the XML command. In the case SQL queries are used to collect analysis order, the same parameter names must be used.

Auto-fill trigger

The Auto-fill trigger list has to be configured only if using the Automatic command fill-in feature.

Please refer to Automatic filling of analysis parameters to learn more.

The parameters defined as trigger in the Commands window/Auto-fill trigger column, are used by the Sample Scheduler as a ‘key set’ allowing it to select which command template (set of parameters relative to one analysis) must be used to complete an incomplete command generated by the LIMS.

The parameters belonging to the Auto-fill trigger list must mandatorily be assigned a value to allow a command or an analysis to be accepted as template.

The templates are displayed in the Auto-Fills table.

NOTE

If no trigger is selected, the auto-fill mechanism is not applied. Commands generated by the LIMS are not completed with template.

NOTE

If changes are applied to the Sample Scheduler configuration that require a restart of the Sample Scheduler client, a pop-up message appears in the client informing the user that the client needs to be restarted.
