ADFExport for OpenLab, rev. 1.4, is a plug-in that offers the possibility to export results to the Allotrope Data Format (ADF). A detailed description of the Allotrope Data Format and its structure is available on the Allotrope Foundation web site (https://www.allotrope.org).
Tools to review the ADF file content (for example, ADF Explorer or ADFSee) are available from the Allotrope Foundation web site.
In the current revision of the ADFExport plug-in, the following content is written into the ADF file (for detailed information see ADFExport_ADFContentDescription.pdf available in the download package in SubscribeNet):
ADF data description
The data description contains an initial set of metadata about the single run or the entire sequence. The metadata includes information about the run, such as the system (instrument, including module and column information), the submitter, the sample, the injection, and the sequence. Furthermore, information on chromatograms and UV spectra as well as acquisition and processing method names and peak results are stored.
ADF data cube
The data cube contains exported raw data. The data is identical to the data stored in the .dx file.
The data files are named using a default pattern (<signal name>/<ID> or <data file name>/<signal name>/<ID>, depending on the workflow). Spaces are replaced by an underscore, special characters are ignored.
Instrument curves such as pump pressure curve, column oven temperature curves are not yet exported to ADF data cubes. They are only part of the ADF data package. |
If you used blank subtraction or smoothing to process the data the transformed signals are stored instead of the raw data. |
ADF data package
The data package contains a subfolder with the original OpenLab CDS files, including *.dx, *.acaml, *.amx, *.pmx (if available), *.sqx (if available).
If you Export manually in Data Analysis, and you have saved your data first, *.rx files are also exported.
If you export data that has been acquired with ChemStation, the original ChemStation files are exported as well.
There are different ways to export data to ADF format:
Export automatically using the processing method , by using a suitable processing method in Data Acquisition or Data Analysis
Export manually in Data Analysis, by using the ribbon command in Data Analysis
The ADF Export process is as follows:
The data folder is checked for valid data.
The data are reformatted for ADF.
The ADF files are exported to the target folder.
The ADF Audit Trail is activated for each ADF file created during ADF Export. |
